Vitale Esperon, known as Vi to everyone else, has endured nearly 2 decades a self loath and questioning. The new millenium had past by only shortly ago (shortly for a vampire of his age) and brought the death of his love, Rayota. His own kind had killed her, his own vampire prince of St. Ashen. Vi had not seen her drained body, but knew what an immortal would do an infamous bounty hunter as Ray. Her blood must of been sweet, such a mixture of human and demon ... he still remembered his first taste of hers.
Vitale fled. Italy seemed so far away, his home land as distant as the moon. So he retreated into the darkness in sadness and in guilt. The catholic church, which Ray had been so devote to in her quest to cleanse the evil from the light, was his answer.
He questioned whether he actually had a soul. Would he ever be able to see his girl in heaven - or would he just rot in hell with the other lifeless demon. He tried purifying himself. Holy water in crosses became testers on his flesh as he learned the holy ways and testiments. His scarred skin reflected his desperation. Vi had no answer.
